The Wedding University This Sunday!

One of the models who will be a part of our ongoing fashion show, featuring 2010 designer gowns, during this Sunday's Wedding University

The long anticipated Wedding University is finally here! This is the second year in a row I have had the privilege of partnering with Jubilee Lau, and the Four Seasons, Silicon Valley, to produce an afternoon of Elegance and Education, designed specifically for Engaged Couples!

The date is this Sunday, January 31, at the Four Seasons, Silicon Valley, from 11am, to 5:30pm!

I enjoyed getting to know many of the couples who attended the Wedding University 2009, and hearing how much they learned from their full day of Elegance and Education.

We have new gifts being donated by our professors, Crown and Crumpet Tea Salon, and other local vendors. Each person registered in The Wedding University will be entered in a drawing, to win these incredible prizes, valued at over $6500!

Encourage your engaged friends not to pass up the chance to be a part of Wedding University, 2010!

All of the professors are hard at work preparing their amazing designs, demonstrations, “tip outlines”, music selections, etc., especially for YOU! And don’t forget the chefs at the Four Seasons who are creating the delectable menu selections for you to enjoy throughout the day.

I look forward to meeting you there!!

Well, we do have a lot of fun in the process of preparing for our Wedding University students! Please come and see the results of our preparations!

All Photos are by Janae Shields, our official TWU Photographer, who will be with us again this year! Thanks, Janae!

Pampered Girls

As I mentioned in my last post, Jubilee and I are out and about more now, enjoying the company of friends in the wedding industry we have missed while launching our new business, Wedding 360; today, thanks to the warmth and generosity of our friend Nancy Liu Chin, we were a part of a lucky group of Pampered Girls!
Nance greeted us with glasses of Proseco, delectable pastries, and the relaxing gift of manicure/pedicures at The Pampered Girl, a boutique nail spa in San Francisco.

Jubilee, me, Michelle Barrionuevo-Mazzini, of MB Wedding Design, Heidi of Gertrude and Mable, Anna Spraungel, of McCalls Catering, Bev Yip, of Especially Yours Chair Covers, Nancy, of Nancy Liu Chin Designs, and Sonya Hong, of Butterfly Cakes.

Each business owner in this group of pampered girls had a very busy 2009 wedding season, often working alongside the delightful Nancy Liu Chin. It is a gift to have made such close friendships with my colleagues in the Wedding Industry.

Thank you Nancy for the pampering and the friendship!
I am already thinking of ways to create another "excuse" to make a date at The Pampered Girl!

Cheers!

Breakfast at the Four Seasons!

On Sunday, The Four Seasons San Francisco hosted a delightful brunch, in their Presidential Suite, for several SF Bay area wedding planners, as a prelude to their 7th Annual San Francisco Wedding Fair, which we all attended later as guests of the Four Seasons. Jubilee Lau and I have been looking forward to this event for months...we seldom see our good friends Stacie Hallinan and David Robinson, Wedding Specialists at the Four Seasons, but we always know this January event will get us together!

We were welcomed by a gourmet presentation of fruits, pastries, mini quiches, crab and shrimp cocktails accompanied by Domaine Chandon Mimosas..what a way to start the day!

During the brunch, Jubilee and I were able to reconnect with many other close friends from the wedding industry, including the amazing Duncan Reyes; working on our new Wedding 360 business has kept Jubilee and me "out of circulation" for the last 6 months, but now we are emerging and look forward to many more opportunities to mix and mingle with our beloved colleagues.

French Toast with sauteed plantains and hot maple syrup....yummmm

Stay tuned for more adventures with Jean and Jubilee, interspersed with updates about The Wedding University, January 31st at the Four Seasons Silicon Valley, and The Academy for Planners + Designers, March 14-16th, at the St. Regis San Francisco.
